I have so many blog ideas floating around right now. I think I will have multiple posts this week so stay tuned! The first though is Valentine's day. This was my 12th Valentine's Day with Josh. We shared our first one when I was 15. I don't remember alot of them in between, but I remember the first one. I spent forever trying to decide what to get him. It was hard to think of a guy gift appropriate for Valentine's day and on a high schoolers budget. So after alot of agony I picked out a green Structure hat (yes, Structure, the store that is now express mens). He gave me a Godiva teddy bear with chocolates. This year we had decided not to do anything for each other, but Josh was sneaky! :) We both worked all day, so Avery spent her first Valentine's day being a grouch at her grammy's house. Once I got home and put Avery to bed, I came downstairs to a surprise sushi dinner complete with roses, chocolate and a new ring :) He is the greatest! I never imagined 12 years ago that we would be sharing a surprise Valentine's dinner after our sweet baby went to sleep. Life is so great!
Valentine's day and all the focus on love and couples made me start thinking about Avery and her future husband. I know it seems crazy to some people to pray for her future husband, but I pray that he will choose to follow God and that he will allow God to shape him into the man he is supposed to be for her one day. But this past week I have not only been thinking about prayer for him, but have really been lead to pray for his parents. That they would be godly examples of how marriage should be and that they would raise him in a safe, loving home full of opportunities.
Happy late Valentine's everyone! I hope it was full of love :)
