What a month October was! First of all happy birthday my dear Avery! Little miss is now 12 months old (as of October 19)! I can't believe it! She is such a blessing and is so much fun. In the last month she has become even more mobile by using anyone and anything to cruise, walking with her toys and standing without assistance. She hasn't realized that she can take steps, but I am not rushing the process! She is also quite the chatterbox. She says "that" all the time while pointing to stuff. She says "dog", "dada" and "duck" all the time. Tucker is her favorite toy and she would rather sit with her books then toys any day. She is very inquisitive and wants to know how things work. She studies the Tupperware and picks out the right lids for the containers but cant figure out how why they don't work when she holds them upside down. She can point to her ears, hair, nose, toes and bellybutton when asked. Gives hugs and kisses freely and giggles all the time. She loves music and will start dancing anytime her toys turn on or you start singing. She is 19 pounds 10 ounces and 29 1/4 in long. Wears 9-12 month clothes and size 2-3 shoes. Not sure where the small feet came from. ha ha
For her birthday, Josh and I, took her to Monkey Joe's. It was in the 50's and raining all day, so an indoor playground was just what she needed. She loved it! She loved the slides most of all and took a great nap when we got home. We gave her a red wagon for her birthday and have already used it quite a bit. She loves riding in it because she can see everything going on around her.
We had her birthday party October 22 and it was perfect! The weather was amazing and she was in a good mood, what more can you ask for :) We had it outside at Aspen Grove Park and it was alot of fun. The bigger kids played on the playground and the younger kids hung out with Avery in the ball pit. When it came time for cake, Avery didn't like the taste or texture in her mouth, but she loved playing in the icing. She had it head to toe and her hair was standing up from all the icing smeared all in it. We are blessed with wonderful friends and family that came to celebrate with us and showered her with so many gifts. We are now trying to figure out how to turn our office into a playroom.
The Sunday after her party we took her to the zoo for their Halloween events. She was the cutest ladybug there! We rode the carousel with her for the first time and went to all the treat stations. She was amazed by all the costumes and couldn't keep her mouth closed while staring at everyone.
Once all the birthday fun was over, we set into yard sale mode. We joined with 3 other couples to have a giant yard sale this past Saturday. To get prepared we cleaned out our attic, which was quite a feat, and then I had to price all the huge boxes of stuff. It was all worth it! The yard sale started at 6am, it was still dark and 30 degrees outside. But people still came! We had a steady crowd all day. Josh and I started the day with 3 car loads of stuff and ended with less than one car full of stuff to take to goodwill. The other couples did well too, all the families combined our yard sale total was $816!!! Glad it is over though, so I can get my house back in order. It has been a mess for a month now and I can't stand it!
We ended the month trick or treating. At first, Avery wasn't sure what was going on, but by the end she was digging in with both hands. It was fun to see her take in all the sights and see all the people. Tucker even went with us, but no one had doggy treats. ha ha maybe next year!
What a month! I am so thankful for all the blessings in my life! Let the holidays begin :)
Such a sweet little lady bug!
