Continually blessed....

Hello! I keep thinking I will get better at keeping this things up to date, but weeks get away before I realize it. So here we are almost at the end of a crazy hot July and I am  making my second post. Oh well! One day I will get better :-)
Well I guess first things first... On the baby front, we have now named our sweet little girl. Her name is Avery Elizabeth! She has been kicking like crazy and growing like a weed. Josh has actually been able to feel her kicking and she is responding to different noises. We also have her crib up. It's still naked at this point, but it is put together. We also registered this past weekend. Target wasn't bad in the store, but trying to work on it from home is impossible. Babies-r-us is much simpler and they have a much bigger selection. The latest blessing in our lives was my doctor visit this week. I had my glucose test at my normal check up. The results from that one came back abnormal, so I had to go back and do the 3 hour glucose test. For those of you who don't know what is involved with that- I had to fast from 10pm Tuesday night for an 8am fasting blood draw. Then I had to drink a glucose solution which is 2x the normal concentration glucose solution. After this, you are not allowed to drink any water, eat anything, or chew any gum. Then they do blood work at the 1 hour, 2 hour, and 3 hour mark. So all in all, I was fasting for 14 hours. That's a long time in this 100* heat to not eat or have water. But I survived and the results today came back as NORMAL!!! Praise God! This means I do not have gestational diabetes and I don't have to go on a restricted diet for the rest of my pregnancy. woo hoo!
This month we also had the great opportunity to finally join our church, New Song Christian Fellowship. We have been attending there since December 2007, but the membership seminars were always on weekends I was working. So we are finally members and can officially call it home. I am very excited to raise Avery in such a wonderful community of believers and to be surrounded by great Christian support and young parents to help us in our journey.
The latest development this month is that our dear friends Chad and Shana are moving to Nashville!! It has been a long job search for Chad, but he found out a few weeks ago he was hired by a company in Franklin. Josh is flying to Chicago tonight to help them load the uhaul and move down here tomorrow! I can't wait for them to be so close and to be able to watch Callum grow up with Avery. He will be her "big brother" and beat up the boys that don't treat her right when they are in school. haha
Well I guess that's it for this time, but of course I hope you enjoy the pictures at the end. If you have any ideas for an inexpensive babymoon please share! We are trying to make plans for our last trip before Avery joins us in November and the holiday craziness begins.

  1. Love the name!!! I can't wait to meet her. Your crib is beautiful, too. David and I need to move to Nashville and join the play group!
