House Hunting

Well for those who haven't heard we finally have a contract on our town house. It took 5 months and over 40 showings to find the right buyer, but we made it! We have jumped over the inspection hurdle with no major complications, now we just have to make it through the appraisal and we will be good to go. We are supposed to close on September 28. That is only 4 weeks from the original offer date. We are moving in fast forward these days.
After finding out we had 4 weeks to find a new house and pack, etc.. We started looking at houses. We knew we wanted to stay in Williamson County for the schools and in the general area of where we are now, because we love how conveinent it is to everything. We also had a list of musts for the new house. With these in mind, we weeded through over 70 properties that our agent sent us. We went to see over 30 houses and in the end decided none of them were the one. We just didnt love any of them or get the overwhelming sense of home when we walked in. So we decided to build one :) We are building a beautiful home in the  Ladd Park community in Franklin. We should close on it the first week of November. It was already started when we looked at it the first time, but the floorplan and outside details were exactly what we had wanted, so it all fell into place. We just went Tuesday and finished picking out the interior finishes including the floors, shower tile, light fixtures, etc.. It was very exciting to see all the details of the house coming together. It is going to be twice the size of our town house and finally give us a yard and outdoor entertaining space we have been wanting for so long. Our back patio overlooks the walking trail and trees. We also face west, so the sunsets from our living room and back yard are going to be amazing!
We will have about 5 weeks of in between houses time, so we will be staying with Josh's parents. They were gracious enough to offer their extra space. We are very grateful to have somewhere to go and for Avery to have more time with them. It will be interesting to put our dogs together, but he can do anything for 5 weeks, right? haha Tell that to our dog that thinks he is the most important person in the family :)
We didn't get many pictures of the beginning stages, but here are a few recent ones. Drywall should go up in the next day or two, so we will have more when it does. I will try to post picture updates as it comes along and  the finished product in November.
In the mean time, be on the lookout for Avery's 2nd birthday that is quickly approaching!

There you go, that's a small snapshot of our future home. I will post more as it looks more like the house we will have :)
