Blessings

Sorry for the lack of posting in the last month- our internet is on the fritz, so I haven't been able to log on. A lot has been going on since my last post, so I guess I will start with the baby stuff :-)
Things are starting to come along nicely. We are finally about to order our maternity pictures. It is so hard to choose. We have 60 different ones to chose from. At least we have the disk, so we can see them all and print more if we want to in the future. We are now almost 34 weeks along and I feel like things are falling into place. A few weeks ago we met with a pediatrician here in Cool Springs and loved him. So Dr. Huss is going to be Avery's doctor for the next however many years. Crazy! I also preregistered at the hospital and we are making progress in our Bradley Method studying to prepare for a natural delivery.
On the shower front, we were blessed by our close friends to have our first baby shower two weekends ago and it was great. It was beautiful and I am thankful for my dear friends that love Avery already and have been lifting her up in prayer! My wonderful coworkers also threw me a shower today. I am so blessed by the generosity of the women I work with. There are 11 or 12 other pregnant women in my department (all due around the same time), so it is amazing to see how everyone is being blessed. Last but not least, we have a family shower this weekend. It will be great to see everyone! I will  post a few pictures from each. They were both so nice!
With all the changes and plans coming together the past week or so, I have been thinking a lot about how blessed Josh and I are to almost be parents. It was such a long, difficult journey to get where we are now. I am continually amazed when I think about how faithful God is and how He heals. Not just my body, but those around me. When Avery moves, hiccups, or even kicks Josh during story time my heart overflows with gratitude for this blessing! We are not deserving, but so thankful! In less than 2 months we get to see and hold our little miracle. I pray that she will know how thankful we are for her and how loved she has been from the beginning. To our friends and family that partnered with us in prayer before and continue to lift us up, I thank you! It means more than you will ever know.
We had our childbirth class this past Saturday. It wasn't necessarily geared toward a natural delivery, but our choices were getting slim based on the dates and our schedules. Going into it I wasn't sure what to expect. It turned out to be great. It was very informative and a great compliment to the books I have been reading. Even though it wasn't geared toward natural childbirth, I left feeling more prepared and more excited about our delivery. It presented the information in a great way. Josh learned a lot as well, even though I'm sure he did not enjoy the videos. They were a bit graphic. Check out the great empathy belly picture at the end!
After class we got to welcome Chad and Shana to Nashville officially with their housewarming party. So fun! It was a great night full of laughs and amazing food! Can't believe they have been here going on two months. It's been great! I can't wait for Avery and Callum to meet and get to play together.
We have also pretty much finished the nursery minus a rocker. It is a relief to have it done and every time I walk by it, I get excited all over again!
Non-baby happenings in the Webb household right now include Josh being called to do jury duty. He was selected last Monday for a trial, so he had to go 9 to 530 Monday through Wednesday. I'm not jealous at all! I was lucky when I was called for jury duty that they didn't end up using me. His fall softball league also started up again. So you will find us at the softball field most Wednesday nights until Avery arrives. Then depending on the weather she might get to go watch him play :-) He is playing with a bunch of guys from college, so it is a great time for me to catch up with their wives. We have also been playing frisbee golf. I am not very good, but I'm trying to get better. It would be easier if  I didn't get winded quite so easily these days. It is a relaxing way for us to spend an afternoon together and we have even taken Tucker a couple of times.
I have a lot of pictures to update. Hope you enjoy! I am hoping our internet will be up and running again soon, so it wont be so long between posts. Happy fall everyone!!

  2. Brittany,
Sorry I missed your shower today. Ethan woke up with a cold that has progressively gotten worse over the course of the day. I am so happy to find that you have a blog. I love blogs! Avery's room is adorable. You two are so prepared!
