Now that we have Internet again I can end our blogging hiatus. Since the last blog, we've had Avery's birthday party, went trick or treating, sold our townhouse and moved into our brand new house and celebrated Thanksgiving!
I'll start with my little love bug. She has changed so much in the last few weeks, she is so much more like a little girl than a baby these days. She wants to do everything herself and is pretty good at it too. She is still very sweet and affectionate and thankfully a great sleeper. I was worried about her adjusting to the move, but she didn't really miss a beat. She was even sick when we moved in and she really adjusted great. She loves the new house. She runs everywhere and loves her play room. I can't wait for our yard to be finished and then she can run and play out there all she wants too.
Now for the drama, we FINALLY closed on the town house October 31. It was such a long road with many hurtles and many tears, but we made it! We loaded everything we owned into a pods unit and what wouldn't fit in that went to my mom's garage. We then spent the next 7 days at my in-laws house. It was so sweet of them to let us stay. Avery loved being there and loved their huge dog. She also deepened her love for trains by playing with her cousin's train set everyday. After more drama and more tears, we finally closed on our new house November 6! It was such a surreal moment. We had waited so long for this day and it didn't seem like it was ever going to happen. We had spent the past 6 years saying, "One day, when we have a house, not our townhouse, we'll...." and that day finally arrived! So for the last three weeks we have been unpacking, decorating, and organizing our home. We love it! It is perfect for us. It is plenty of space for us, plenty for entertaining, and plenty for Avery to grow up in. Other then a few pictures that need to be hung up and some blinds I think we are almost settled. I can't wait to have our first get together, so we can use the space we've been blessed with to bless others!
In the midst of our house work, we celebrated thanksgiving. We spent the day with Josh's grandparents, aunts and cousins and the night with his parents. It was a long, great day with family and great food of course! We then took a break for a day and then went to spend most of the weekend at "Stella", my mom and Mike's country house. It was a blast. Avery loves it out there, she can run forever and see all the animals. She loves to moo at the cows :) My step brother Wayne was there too. We had so much food, played games, decorated the tree and laughed so hard. It was the rest and family time my worn out body and spirit needed. We don't have cell phones, Internet, or cable out there either. Its always a great break from the craziness of our normal lives. I can't wait to get back in a few weeks for Christmas!
I hope you enjoy the pictures, I'll post more as we finish up. The last step will be our yard project, but that will be another post!
